HIGH SCHOOL EXPERIENCE
As eighth graders, the Class of 2024 was quarantined - there was no traditional middle school promotion for this group of students. They started their high school careers on Zoom. For some, the first time they entered WEGO was as a sophomore.

And yet this year's seniors have made the most of their high school experience - they joined clubs, cheered for the football team during spirit nights, and jumped in the mosh pit at Prom.

At commencement on May 15, when 484 students walked across the stage at Northern Illinois University's Convocation Center, the moment was a memorable one.

"It’s a bitter sweet moment, life changes in one day having to go school for 12 years of your life and now having to be on your own can be scary but this is what High school prepared us for," now former student Aaliyah Williams Perez said.
